2026 Election of HCDC officers and Exec Committee

The Hunterdon County Democratic Committee hereby provides notice of the Organization Meeting and Election of Officers and Executive Committee  to be held on June 20, 2026. The election will be governed by the 2022 Hunterdon County Democratic Convention rules which have not been amended since their adoption and remain in force and effect. A copy of the rules is attached hereto. 

The Organization Meeting and Election of Officers and Executive Committee will be held at Flemington Elks, 165 NJ-31, Flemington, NJ, 08822, with doors opening for voter delegate check in at 9:00 AM and the meeting starting at 9:30 AM or soon after.  All voting will be in-person, on-site.  All newly elected Municipal Chairs are requested to send a formal communication to info@hcdems.org with the outcomes of their local Municipal organization meetings including the full name and contact information of the Municipal Chairs and Vice Chairs.  This is important for voting purposes.

Information for Voters

All County Committee meetings are open to the public.  For this election, voting delegates are comprised of newly elected or re-elected County Committee members, Municipal Chairs, Municipal Vice Chairs and the two Hunterdon County State Committee Members.  As per the HCDC By-Laws, only these people will be permitted to vote.

Information for Interested Candidates

There are a total of 11 elected positions:  the 11 elected positions are comprised of 4 officers and 7 board members.  There are also 5 positions appointed directly post-election by the elected chair.

Candidates are required to provide a letter of intent to run for a stated position to Parliamentarian DiPirro by email to info@hcdems.org no later than 9:00 AM on June 12, 2026.  Prior to submitting a letter of intent, candidates are encouraged to review the By-Laws as found at www.hcdems.com particularly as it relates to minimum requirements and the role of the position sought.  

At the time that a candidate submits a letter of intent he or she must also provide (1) the name and contact information for the person that will nominate them; (2) the name and contact information for the person who will second the nomination; and (3) the candidate's  relevant biographical information, so that information can be provided to all voters in advance of the election.  In that the current rules in effect do not permit nominations from the floor for contested seats, only candidates who submit a complete letter of intent on or before June 12, 2026 at 9:00 AM will be permitted on the ballot.
